What to expect

An hour and a half, and none of it depends on you knowing what to do.

How the morning goes

  1. Before it starts

People arrive, get a coffee and talk. It is noisy and unhurried. Come in whenever you like, and sit wherever you like.

  2. Singing

A band leads a set of songs. The words are on the screen. Some people sing loudly, some stand quietly, some sit. All of that is normal and nobody is watching you.

  3. Notices and offering

A few minutes on what is happening in the life of our church, and an offering. Visitors are not asked to give, and nobody watches who does.

  4. The message

A talk from the Bible, usually around forty minutes, working through a passage and what it asks of us during the week.

  5. Afterwards

Tea, coffee and conversation. Someone from the welcome team will find you if you would like, and will leave you be if you would rather.

The room

Rows of seats facing a low stage. Sit anywhere; plenty of people who have been here for years sit at the back.

Our congregation comes from many countries and first languages. The gathering itself is in English.

Our room during a gathering: the congregation seated in rows beneath the words The Transformation Edge, A change is inevitable, and our mission painted on the wall.
The queue at the meal after a gathering. People serving from trays while others wait with plates.

What will not happen

  • You will not be asked to stand up, introduce yourself or raise a hand.
  • You will not be asked to give money, and no one will follow up if you do not.
  • You will not be put on a list because you walked in the door.

Not only Sundays

We also gather on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. The door is just as open.

If you are bringing children

EdgeKids runs during the gathering for school-age children, with screened and trained leaders. Younger children are welcome to stay with you, and there is space at the back if you need to move around.
